According to the Daily Mail Manchester United refuse to rush to offer Kobbie Mainoo a new contract immediately.
Last week Fabrizio Romano claimed the opposite as he reported no new contract United were considering a sale. The midfielder is only 18 years old.
However the Daily Mail understands that no such contract is currently being discussed as Mainoo current contract expires in 2027.
The contract was also signed 12 months ago and the club do not want to rush to offer him a higher salary or his continued stay.
In the past United have made the mistake of giving players big contracts before they deserve them.
If the Daily Mail report is true it could be a sign of a better decision in the new era of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
